Position Overview: The Generalist Medical Technologist/MLT will perform a wide range of laboratory tests across various disciplines, including clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory techniques, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and interpret a variety of laboratory tests, including those in clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and proper functioning.
- Follow established procedures and protocols to ensure accurate test results and maintain quality control.
- Collect and process patient specimens according to laboratory standards.
- Analyze test results and prepare reports for review by physicians or other healthcare professionals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with laboratory equipment and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, infection control protocols, and quality assurance practices.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of laboratory activities and results.
- Provide support and guidance to other laboratory staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Associate's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or (MLT) by relevant certifying body, e.g., ASCP, AMT is required.
- 1 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
